Rarely are investment markets as volatile as they’ve been during the past month or so. And vital resource stocks have been among the most jaggedly traded.
This kind of action comes with the territory. Vital resource stocks are inexorably tied to global economic growth, and anything that seems to threaten that growth invariably triggers a sell-off.
Our advice if and when this happens: keep a cool head. For one thing, there’s no recession yet – even with the unfolding disaster in the US mortgage market. And the Federal Reserve looks determined to avoid anything more than a minor slowdown here.

However, the more money the Fed prints to prop up the economy, the more the dollar will devalue and the higher vital resource prices will rise.

This bull market in vital resources is anchored in several deeply ingrained factors. The most important is the insatiable appetite in the developing world for metals, minerals, water and a host of other basic materials to feed their growth.

And while the U.S. may be experiencing upheaval in their growth, many other nations including China, India, The Middle East, Central and Eastern Europe are seeing unprecedented growth and boom time. These fast-growing nations desperately need vital resources to keep their economies going. Even if the US falters, their demand will continue to grow.

In my latest report – The Secret Metal - I outline two vital resource companies whose outlook is very bright. And since the metal they produce has not been a participant in the most recent rally, there is more upside here than in other metals.

One of my recommendations is so well placed it has been rumored to be an acquisition target. Takeover or not, this is a strong buy.

My second company in The Secret Metal produces 13% of the world’s supply of this strategic metal. What's more, it has the vital components needed to produce this metal at rock bottom prices giving it a leg up on its competitors.
