"Dark Market" Operators Slip Federal Limits on Oil Trading
According to The Washington Post:
"[A small group of ultra wealthy traders] are taking advantage of loopholes in federal trading limits to buy massive amounts of oil... helping to push oil prices to record highs."

According to one hedge fund manager who testified before Congress, "Over the past five years, [these] investors have become such a force... their appetite for oil has been equal to China's increase in demand over the same period."

One former commissioner of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) calls this trading "dark markets," and adds: "They [CFTC] don't even know who's doing the trading."

In short, these "dark markets" operate according to their own rules, often without any rules at all � except the rules they set for the rest of us to follow. Beating these sharks at their own game was the sweetest reward of all.
