The financial world didn’t get its relief yesterday. The bailout plan and any accompanying reprieve just weren’t in the cards. The Dow tumbled and investors rushed to the exits.
I’m not going to harp on the bad news again, I’m sure you’ve heard it all by now. That’s because opportunity is knocking right now.

Are You Being Assimilated?

Russell McDougal
I used the term assimilation in last week’s commentary related to the projected North American Currency Union. Will the “Amero”, representing Canada, the US and Mexico, replace the failing dollar? Are individuals and nations losing their sovereign rights as they become part of larger and larger national entities?
The feedback from that article was overwhelmingly positive (darn it). Tomorrow’s IDE essay will be on the same topic.

Assimilation is a slow and steady process. People and countries don’t automatically become one conglomerated nation. Sovereignty is chipped away bit by bit. An illuminating example is post WW2 Germany. The Berlin Wall was constructed by East Germany in 1961. Over 5000 people managed to escape this barrier and find freedom in West Germany before the wall was torn down in 1989. What does this historic division of Germany have to do with assimilation of people?

A great deal. Here was a distinct country with a common language and hundreds of years of mutual history. They suffered a twenty-eight year division thanks to communist tyranny. How easy has the reunification of Germany been?

Germany is still struggling with the socio-economic costs of assimilating what used to be their own countrymen. It has been anything but easy. After a mere twenty-eight years, the East Germans have suffered a literal time warp in joining back with the Homeland. Twenty-eight years isn’t far from representing an entire generation.

And some think the US, Canada and Mexico are somehow going to be one cohesive unit? No way. There’s going to be hell to pay if elitist plans are enacted.

Here’s a comment from IDE reader Martin…

Don't you realize, you have already been assimilated? That's what your beautiful United States of America is all about. What difference does it make whether you are assimilated into 51 states or 53 states?

Who Really Enabled Bernie?

By Lynn Carpenter Ahhhh… It was too good to be true. The SEC thought so and had been trying to investigate since 1999. At least one firm (Aksia LLC) that investigated the claims thought they...

Thanks, Martin. This present assimilation plan couldn’t be any further distanced from the desires and intents of the American Founding Fathers. They had a comprehensive understanding of tyranny and complete disdain for it.

The fascist tendencies of those targeting national sovereignty is the most troublesome aspect of this sordid affair. We’re not talking about expanding Disney Land here.

There is a barrage of treaties and organizations working to undermine the US Constitution and our God given liberties. Think of NAU, CAFTA, GATT, WTO, World Bank, SPP, Codex Alimentaris and NAFTA. More appropriately, you should just think of them all as SHAFTA. You’re on the receiving end.

Another comment is from Sherrie in Florida:

It's difficult to put into words what I think and feel watching the demise of my country. The level of corruption, greed, fraud and ruthlessness I've witnessed in our leadership could be the envy of any third world despot.

I don't know who's been in charge of our nation's economic, legal and political system for the past 10 years, but undoubtedly, it is not the candidates elected by the American people.

I had hopes that the American people would stand up and put a stop to the blatant and unrelenting power-grab. Unfortunately, (based on some painful personal experience in the financial sector) I have learned that as long as the questionable activities do not appear to affect people negatively, they will happily turn a blind eye and go their merry way...

What a terrible wake-up call awaits them... I have no doubt when that day comes, the American people will rise up en masse and demand the nearest attractive, well-spoken, media savvy thug create a national nanny state to provide for them. Do you think they'll have the intelligence or insight to recognize that with the loss of their personal freedom and property they will be relegated to the role of national house-pets?

Thanks for your voice in the wilderness. It's very appreciated.

Thanks Sherrie, very well said (were we separated at birth?). Unfortunately, it has been our elected politicians who have betrayed us. Power corrupts. Those who seek power are just that much more subject to corruption. They are bought and paid for almost to the person. They were elected to be in charge but they wimped out.

You are so right about there being higher entities pulling the strings on these puppets.

IDE reader Greg put forth the following comments…

I've enjoyed reading your articles for the last year or so and I
often forward them to people I care about. Your honesty is refreshing at this time in our history when the media machine churns out lies to the extent that Americans seem to have developed an allergy to the truth. Most citizens don't recognize it when they hear it and politicians are unable to speak it. This assimilation that you wrote of is a reality. Besides following the suggestions you've mentioned previously (getting out of debt, owning REAL assets such as land and precious metals) is there anything we can do as citizens to slow this snowball down? I've got a few ideas that I won't mention for fear of a "Cuban vacation" but I'd love to hear yours.

Thanks, Greg. Screaming bloody murder works for me. Educating yourself and those you care about and have influence with is essential. You are clearly doing this! Books like The Creature from Jekyll Island are foundational. You can work to vote out incumbents. You can stop any continued participation in the DemoPublican charades. The present activities are little more than high drama bordering on circus. The American populace gets sucked into this entertainment every four years. Then it’s back to corporate business as usual. We have never needed a true third party more than now.

There are worse things in life than a GITMO training session.

Live Resourcefully,

Rusty
