You don't need me to spoil your weekend with the gory details about the present American experience. We're living in a time that will be especially noted in the history books. Keen analysis has never been more important.
My essays don't typically come your way on Saturdays. Let's see if we can't get off to a gingerly start. Truth be told, I'm uncharacteristically speechless at the present time. We are witnessing a slow motion train wreck in the markets and the economy.

Everyone is now discussing the fraud and abuse coming out of the New York/DC Axis of Weasels. The billions, trillions and quadrillions of dollars being dissected are truly mind numbing. You can hardly wrap your mind around the size of the problem.

Why didn't more people see this coming? You heard me suggest you "Step Away from the Sewage" well over a year ago and on a multitude of other occasions:

"Fiat systems always fail, mainly because they offer something for nothing. They are also always abused. The current one is steeped with fraud and unimaginable excess. It is now undergoing shock therapy to keep it functioning on life supports a while longer."

This thing is now pretty close to being a corpse. This is not an "I told you so" from a know it all. My beloved resource stocks have been indiscriminately decimated over the recent months. Humbling is the word that comes to mind regardless of how irrational the carnage appears. Lots of us have been dealt some of life's lemons.

Again, we now face the likelihood of a nasty depression "The "D" Word: Part 3 Your Cheatin' Heart or My Lyin' Eyes?". Panic hasn't run this deep since the Great Depression. The best approach is to project what the future has in store for all of us. My August 2007 editorial also stated…

"How do you protect yourself from a debt, dollar and fiat currency crisis? Tangible goods such as gold, silver, resources, land, collectables etc. will, sooner or later, take back their historic function in times of monetary crisis. For now spin is dominating reality."

Pending Home Sales Figures

By Christian Hill Since last week’s economic calendar was full of so many important reports, I thought I would take a minute and recap a bit before moving on to this week’s calendar.

Sliding Down The Slope of Hope

By Chris Johnson Dear Reader, Lack of fear can be a relative term.  It certainly is in the case of the recent market reaction to the latest moves in the major indices and the economy. ...

Those words are only more appropriate some fourteen months later. Those of you who have recently attempted to purchase physical gold and silver realize that is not such an easy task. Shortages, premiums and delays abound. The COMEX (CRIMEX) market in NY sets the contrived low price but that doesn't mean there are available precious metals at their price.

Gold and silver are known as the "monetary metals". There is a fuse lit under them.

Life is now set to be distinctly different for Americans. We are in the epicenter of the present global financial and economic carnage. It is of the utmost importance that the source of all of these historic problems be accurately identified. You can't leave it to establishment historians to spin the tale.

There is no moving on until the culprits are identified. I expect to continue spending time on this topic as events play out. Here are the antagonists in this drama:

    1. Fraudulent money
    2. Power mongering elitists
    3. Greedy bankers and financial wizards
    4. A rubber stamping Congress with questionable allegiances
    5. A puppetry Presidency
    6. A bought and paid for media
    7. A distracted, apathetic and uninformed citizenry

That, my friends, is a deadly combination. There will be no easy fixes for this sewer. The very same people who brought us the problems are now seeking more and more power with their own special solutions. Lots of people are going to have to decide exactly how important their freedom is.

It has been hilarious to see all the various pundits blaming most anything except the recent bailout package for the Wall Street sell off early this week.

This is truly a time for reflection on the most important things in life. Let the above entities jump out of windows. This is a time to slow down and take stock of the blessings we still have…. family, health, relationships, knowledge, spirituality and various skills.

There are unfathomable challenges dead ahead but you can thrive during whatever comes your way. Be on the lookout for government distractions. They'd like you to focus on most anything besides the catastrophe they have created.

Thanks for sharing your weekend with IDE!

Live Resourcefully,

Rusty
