Its seems much safer these days to on each div payment take that piddly little div and put into into a cash, low penalty, higher interest FDIC insured CD.
The DRIP issue seems like it is maybe the same as the interest rate and APY issue per bank accounts, more commonly called "compounding".
Please correct me if I am wrong!

Nothing new here, the " dividend boost" is available through "Dividend reinvestment plans" and these DRIPs have been around for years. The best companies to choose can be found in "Mergent's list of Dividend Achievers" from Amazon.
