Watch List for Monday 10-26-2009
My new big pick is TPIV.
The last time I did an alert on a bio company it went over 1,000%.  TPIV won't go up 1000% any time soon because it's much higher price but it will be one to watch.
I've been recovering from the flu for the last 2 weeks and the first few days I thought it was it the Swine Flu.  Thankfully it wasn't.  There has already been over 1,000 US Swine flu deaths.

President Obama just declared on Saturday swine flu a national emergency.  There is currently a shortage of vaccines to treat this flu and the Gov. hopes to have 50 mill does by mid-November.

TPIV has something that may potentially help situations like this, that's why I want you to add it to your watch list immediately!!

TPIV is developing an adjuvant or "accelerant" to enhance targeted vaccines against infectious diseases.  The adjuvant can increase potency by 100-1000 times!  Now imagine for a minute if they used an adjuvant to enhance the swine flu vaccine.  In theory this could solve the shortage problem!!!

TPIV has started to pick up in activity over the last few months.  TPIV recently announced they have raised $450k in capital which will be used to for clinical development programs.

TPIV is a biotechnology company specializing in the development of innovative cell based immunotherapeutics and vaccines in the areas of oncology and infectious disease.

I believe TPIV could see huge upside if their technologies come to market.  Start your own research by visiting: http://www.tapimmune.com

TPIV has started to trend up over the last 2 days and I believe if it tests highs it made a few weeks ago it could break it.  Make sure it's on your watch list!!

Laying in bed with an achy body, a stuffy nose, a sore throat, and tissues all over is not a pleasant experience. But with medicine and rest most of us are able to get up after a few days and go back to our regular routine.

TPIV realizes that things have changed in the last year. Now what we think is just the flu has the potential to kill us!

A lot of people have died from the H1N1 virus. More than 1,000 people in the U.S.!

The World Health Organization on Friday reported more than 414,000 laboratory-confirmed cases of H1N1 worldwide, with nearly 5,000 deaths.

The H1N1 virus has even been declared a national emergency by the White House.

TPIV specializes in the development of innovative cell based immunotherapeutics and vaccines in the areas of oncology and infectious disease.

Vaccines are extremely important because they protect us from disease. But unfortunately sometimes there aren't enough vaccines to go around.

Healthy adults are being asked to step aside and let children and pregnant women and people with health problems to have the first crack at the H1N1 vaccinations.

A company like TPIV could one day make sure there are enough vaccines to go around for everybody.

TPIV's technologies have been featured on ABC News BusinessNow, B-TV, in BusinessWeek, and Popular Mechanics!

Also in local news papers as well as many respected medical journals including the Journal of Immunology, Nature (Biotechnology), International Journal of Cancer, Cancer Research and PLoS Pathogens among others.

TPIV's lead product, the TAP vaccine, performs a key step in moving characteristic markers called antigens to the surfaces of cells. Without TAP, there are no cancer markers, so the immune system fails to spot the rogue cells and the cancerous cells can grow undetected.

The cellular arm of the immune system is critical in protecting us against malignant cells that develop into deadly, metastatic cancers. The immune system is able to distinguish between normal cells and cancerous or virus infected cells by monitoring a molecule on the cell surface called the major histocompatibilty complex (MHC) class I.

TPIV's vaccine technology is based on modulating the activity of the antigen processing machinery (APM) to increase effective presentation of antigens to the immune system.

Transporters associated with antigen processing (TAP) play a major role in the antigen processing pathway by supplying suitable antigenic peptides to the MHC class I complex. Nearly all cell types display MHC class I antigen on their surface and provide the information to the immune system.

The immune system uses this information to selectively destroy cancerous cells or those infected with pathogens. When a virus infects a cell, the viral protein components are degraded by the proteasome into smaller peptide components; TAP then facilitates the binding of the foreign peptides of viral origin to the MHC class I complex and these are subsequently display on the infected cell's surface.

Cytotoxic T-Cells recognize foreign peptides bound to the MHC class I antigen on the cell surface and destroy infected cells to prevent the spread of this infection.

The TAP molecule also works as an adjuvant or ‘accelerant' to enhance targeted vaccines against infectious diseases.

This is where TPIV could one day change the problem of having a shortage in vaccines.

Including TAP in the studied Smallpox Vaccine showed potency was increased by 100-1000 times!

TPIV is currently developing AdhTAP for the commencement of toxicology studies leading to the initiation of Phase I clinical trials.

TPIV's strategy is to enter Phase I / II clinical trials with the innovative TAP vaccine for oncology and infectious disease.

TPIV will seek partnerships for follow-on development. The key elements of the company's near term strategy are:

* Commence production of clinical grade vaccine
* Complete preclinical studies for AdhTAP vaccine
* File IND and initiate Phase I clinical trials for oncology
* Replicate smallpox efficacy studies for the MVA-TAP vaccine (for business development purposes)

The global vaccine market is expected to grow from $13 billion in 2007 to $21 billion in 2010!

Cancer causes about 13% of all human deaths. According to the American Cancer Society, 7.6 million people died from cancer in the world during 2007.

TPIV could one day save millions of lives if they are able to execute their plans.  Do your own research and consult with your own financial professional.
