The two Internet behemoths are headed for a major confrontation that could eventually change the world for internet shoppers. Here's what it means for you. At the onset of the New Year 2008, at least two things will look very different in the world of retail.
Whose victory Google or EBay? - Google would have advanced beyond just being a search engine and made forays into -- efficiently connecting buyers and sellers in a way that makes it do what eBay is doing now, with the help of its new technology it is currently refining more commonly known as "programmable search". That will help consumers to dig into store inventories and find exactly what they are looking for both on and off line, at the best price.
Google Has the Edge over Ebay
- EBay and its shareholders will sooner or later suffer as buyers and sellers migrate away from eBay's platform, to set up their own storefronts on the Web not to overlook here that Google is Famous for giving away goodies such as Google Apps for free.
What this means for you?Is you will be taken to shop and Checkout as soon as you have finished your search at Google to proceed to Buy this is what “Programmable Search” is all about and this is where Pay Pal will get Hit Most. Although Google at this point in time does not want to show its cards for obvious reasons nonetheless a big war is ahead and this is the silence before the storm.
While Google is getting ready for the confrontation with its Google Checkout Payment system that is similar in functionality to EBay’s Pay Pal. Proof enough this is Google's Checkout is banned on eBay because the auction giant sees it as a competitor to its own payment system. Pay Pal users are better advised to get acquainted with Google’s- Checkout system that is going to change the way you shop online.
