| Indian stock market crash claims investor’s life |

BSE Sensex, the benchmark BSE index, lost almost 630 points over three days in the second steepest crash since May 2006. A 38 year-old stock investor here committed suicide after reportedly losing Rs. 40 lakhs during the massive crash in the stock markets. Police said N. Suresh of Kalasiguda was found hanging from the ceiling of his bed room on Saturday morning. The body was noticed by Suresh’s mother Satayamani and wife Sunita. The couple had three children. His relative said he made a good living out of investing in stocks. He faced severe losses a few years ago but recovered only recently. His brother Veeresh said Suresh had taken loans to invest in the market. After the BSE Sensex crashed earlier this week, Suresh told his relatives that he had no hopes of recovering the money. His family members said that he lost abuse Rs. 40 lakhs in three days. Veeresh said Suresh did not discuss the full details of his business with the family. On Saturday morning he sent his mother, wife and children and ended his life. “He was suffering severe losses as the BSE Sensex was crashing. Depressed over this, he committed suicide by hanging himself with saree,” said A. Anjaneyulu, Mahankali sub-inspector. Suresh left behind a note saying that his body should be handed over to his brothers and sisters for his last rites.
